DEPACHIKA FOOD HALL AT NAKHEEL MALL ON PALM JUMEIRAH

Dubai’s culinary scene might leave taste buds spoilt for choice with restaurants spread far and wide, but brace yourselves for a one-stop foodie’s paradise in Dubai. The official launch of a beautiful haven of flavours and offerings, Depachika Food Hall Dubai at Nakheel Mall located on Palm Jumeirah is set to be the go-to destination for all things’ food, and just in time for the festive season.

Those who have travelled to Japan will know that a depachika is a must visit, especially when it comes to indulging to your heart’s and appetite’s content. The word depachika is a combination of the Japanese word depa – meaning department store – with the Japanese word chika- meaning basement. One of Japan’s best kept secrets, a depachika is a basement-level food hall located in the country’s many department stores, often attached to train stations. Carrying an array of delicious finds from delicatessen-style goods and gourmet treats to ready-to-eat food and beautifully packaged gifts, this epicurean dream is about to come to life in Dubai.

Depachika Food Hall Dubai will be the first and localised version of a depachika, offering a unique experience inspired by the basement-level food halls found in Japan. Opened on the Palm Jumeirah on the first floor of Nakheel Mall, Depachika is set to be more than just a food hall showcasing a wide and exciting range of gourmet treats, culinary stations and exciting restaurants, but also a gathering destination where visitors can immerse themselves in exclusive mouth-watering offers whilst enjoying great company and a variety of gourmet activities. Supporting local businesses, the majority of the outlets at Depachika are home grown brands backed by local artisans and conceptualised by break-through talents.

Upon entering this culinary wonderland, follow your nose to an exceptional range of outlets including dine-in options such as Lime Tree Café, Kilikio by Mythos, Salmontini, 1762, Massimo’s Gelato and Moishi Ice Cream, and retailers such as Royce Chocolate, The Lighthouse, Florette, Lakrids and more.

Outside of dining and retail locations, guests can discover a variety of activities including bringing their inner chef to life at the Depachika Cooking Studio. Offering tailored cooking classes, team building and kids’ activities, workshops and more, Mamalu will also be executing cooking classes and collaborating with the hotels around the Palm Jumeirah, offering tourists and residents alike the chance to learn how to make some of Lama Jammal’s most well-known dishes.

After sampling some of Depachika’s food offering, why not enjoy a little wine tasting? The food hall will opened its doors to Dubai’s first convenient wine shop thanks to its intimate wine room. Offering a range of white, red and sparkling grape, simply bring along your alcohol license and enjoy.

Throughout the year taste-makers can also enjoy Depachika’s monthly entertainment calendar, with the first set of activities beginning during the festive season with Depachika Introduces Chocolate Fever, Depachika Introduces Coffee & Tea, and Depachika Matsuri Festival. From chocolate tasting and baking sessions with sugarmoo to coffee demonstrations with Boon and 1762, there’s something for everyone. Additionally, the Matsuri (meaning festive in Japanese) Festival will be taking place on every last Saturday of the month, starting from January onwards. A celebration of all things’ food, Depachika will be filled with music and entertainment making it the perfect place to gather with family and friends.

Get ready for Depachika delights in Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.

Open weekdays from 10am to 10pm and on weekends from 10am to 12am.
